Biji Salak (Sweet Potato Balls)

150g sweet potato

1/4 cup tapioca starch

1/2 cup water

2 Tbs coconut sugar

2 pandan leaves

1/4 cup So Good Almond Unsweetened Milk

2 Tbs low fat coconut milk

pinch of salt


  1. Steam or boil the sweet potato until soft.
  2. Mash the sweet potato until free of lumps.
  3. Add in the tapioca starch and mix until well combined and you have a firm dough.
  4. Divide and roll into 1-inch balls.
  5. Add 1 liter of water into a small pot and bring to a boil.
  6. Add in the sweet potato balls and cook until they float up, then strain.
  7. In a small pot add in the coconut sugar, pandan leaf, and water, bring to a boil, then simmer for 3 minutes.
  8. Repeat the same steps for the So Good Unsweetened Almond Milk, coconut milk, pandan leaf, and salt.
  9. Place the sweet potato balls in a bowl, add in the sugar syrup and almond coconut milk.
